On Thursday 12th February, the 2009 Galvin Park College Captains, and the Middle Years House Captains participated in a Student Leadership Conference conducted by ‘Impact Leadership’ at the Moonee Valley Racecourse, Moonee Ponds.

The students participated in a variety of sessions and workshops including:

  • Public Speaking Skills.
  • School Captain Leadership.
  • Increasing School Pride.
  • Leadership in Sports.
  • Fresh Ideas for Events and Projects.
  • Conflict Resolution.
  • Leadership Decision Making.
  • Balancing Responsibilities.
  • Discovering My Leadership Style.

The conference was of great benefit for all students in the Student Leadership program, helping them to develop into effective leaders that will contribute to the College in a positive manner.  The students that attended have met with the remaining student leaders to pass on their knowledge, giving the Student Leadership program a positive start for 2009.
