BackgroundIn line with Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD)Policy, Galvin Park Secondary College is committed to providing safe, secure, multicultural and stimulating environments for all students. In relation to this policy, every student has the right to feel safe from bullying at school. In developing and implementing the Student Code of Conduct the College's aim is to foster high standards of behaviour based on respect, tolerance, cooperation, mutual responsibility, self discipline and the promotion of positive, non-discriminatory relationships amongst staff, students and parents. Bullying of any kind at GPSC will not be tolerated by students, staff and parents.The current Anti-Bullying and Harassment Policy was written in 2002. Since then the DEECD has instructed schools to include cyber bullying and sexual harassment as sub sets of this policy. The Anti-Bullying and Harassment Policy outlined here is also recognized as a core component of the college Student Code of Conduct Policy, which was developed in December 2007.
